The hide does not lie.
Hover to inspect the full-grain texture. No sanding. No correction. What you see is what you wear — and it only improves with age.
Santa Croce, Tuscany — Vegetable-tanned full-grain
Belts made this year
of 500 maximum
Each belt is numbered and archived. When the edition sells out, no reprints are made.
One belt. One pair of hands.
Five deliberate stages. Nothing rushed. Nothing outsourced.
Selection
Fewer than 1 in 20 hides from Santa Croce, Tuscany pass my inspection. The rest are returned. Only the tightest grain, richest depth, and zero correction make the cut.
The Cut
Hand-cut from a single continuous section — never pieced, never spliced. I follow the leather's natural topography. The result flexes from the first wear.
The Edge
Fifteen minutes per belt. Natural beeswax, repeated friction, hand-burnished to a glass-like seal. Machine edges fail. These do not.
The Hardware
316L surgical-grade stainless steel. Hypoallergenic, corrosion-proof. Solid brass Chicago screws — serviceable, replaceable, built for a century.
The Signature
9-point inspection. Hand-signed and numbered. Each belt archived by date, maker, and hide. Personal accountability — not branding.
The hardware is an investment, not an afterthought.

Classic Prong
"I didn't set out to build a brand. I set out to build a belt I could hand to my son. Thirty years later, that is still the only thing I make."
— Bian Variani
Creative Director, Est. 1988
Lifetime guarantee. No fine print.
The 316L stainless steel will not corrode. The full-grain leather will not delaminate. If a Variani belt fails due to craftsmanship, I replace it. This has never happened.
