When a belt fails in the valley, it is usually because the maker skimped on leather, glue or metal. Here is each shortcut and why Bian will not take it.
On icy mornings my belt feels stiff and it has started to crack.
The shortcut
Painted and corrected leathers have a plastic-like surface that turns brittle when outflow winds drop the temperature. Bent hard while frozen, that surface breaks.
The Variani way
Full-grain aniline leather has no brittle coating to shatter. Like any real leather it stiffens in deep cold, so let it warm up indoors before bending it hard and it will keep going for decades.

The shortcut
Thin straps built from glued layers have nothing inside to keep them stiff. Add farm tools or a work phone and they curl within weeks.
