The top 1 to 2 percent of the hide, with the natural surface left intact. It is the strongest cut, it ages into a patina, and it is the only leather Bian works with.

Real leather that has been sanded to hide flaws and then sprayed with a new finish. Neat on day one, weaker every day after.
